And don’t forget that the Co-op site has a list of what veggies, herbs, spices and fruits are in season throughout the year – check out the list for March. New season apples are just becoming available and the taste will blow you away.

Co-op AGM on this Saturday 13 March at 4 pm

zoe | 9:14 pm

We need a quorum of 20 members for the Annual General Meeting, so would really appreciate the attendance of any Co-op members who can attend.

To ease you along, there will be free nibbles & drinks and every attending member gets 2 stamps on their card – that’s four months of shopping at a 20% discount on ordinary prices.

The Agenda can be found here. The items in italics are the Management Committee’s reasons for supporting proposed rule changes including changing the name of the Co-op, increasing the hours of work required for “working member” status to 12 hours per year, and providing Shop Co-ordinators a $30 voucher for shifts worked.

Seasonal and wholefood treats for Co-op sweet tooths …

Here’s an amazing lime and blueberry cheesecake Babs made, using fruit from the Co-op. She substituted lime for lemon in this recipe.

And Zoe used Co-op rapadura 70% cocoa solids coverture to make this ridiculous chocolate mousse cake:

zoe | February 9, 2010 1:16 pm

Well, they’re working – here’s Co-ordinator Barbara Schreiner speaking with the first new customer who said she came to the Co-op because of the new signs outside.

Upcoming volunteering opportunities

zoe | 12:50 pm

As I mentioned last week, we are working to improve the organisation of volunteers regarding hours and assembling a list of volunteer jobs.

Regarding volunteer hours, it would be very helpful for both co-ordinators and myself if people wanting to do their hour/s would inform us in advance
of when they would like to work so we can spread out the volunteers over a period of time.

Additionally, there are 3 upcoming community events which we here at the Co-op would like to attend.

1. O-week Market Stall Day at ANU Union Court
Wednesday, February 17 10 to 2

2. Sustainability Day at ANU Union Court
Thursday, February 25 10 to 2

3. Harvest Festival
Saturday, March 27 10 to 3

We will be needing volunteers to attend the 3 stalls. This will count as your hour/s worked for this period. Please
email Barbara
if you are available to help with any of these events.
